In this role, you’ll become the architect of tomorrow’s jet engines, crafting every detail with precision and artistry. Picture yourself creating 2D cross sections, 3D reusable models, and Model-Based Definition (MBD) in a seamlessly connected model environment. Your work will extend to tolerance stack-ups, facilitating co-authoring of design changes, and mastering various electronic data formats that underpin every stage of engineering, analysis, manufacturing, assembly, tooling, quality, and inspection.

  • Create detailed 2D cross sections, 3D models, and Model-Based Definitions in a connected environment, mastering various electronic data formats.
  • Conceptualize and design new Gas Turbine components, breathing life into innovative models that push the boundaries of engineering.
  • Lead collaborative efforts to meet stringent design and interface requirements, supported by a dedicated team.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define dimensional constraints and geometric tolerances, optimizing manufacturing processes for excellence.
  • Ensure seamless interfaces between components and assemblies, serving as the cornerstone of engineering consensus.
  • Utilize expertise in assembly models and Digital Engine environments to support the latest digital engine builds.
  • Shape perfection through expert Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T), driving improvements in quality, speed, and precision.
  • Navigate CAD and CAM environments seamlessly, managing projects within budget and schedule, and delivering uncompromising quality.
  • Uphold the highest standards of operational excellence, ensuring adherence to policies, procedures, and engineering standards.
  • Meticulously document technical data and spearhead initiatives to evaluate and enhance processes, tools, and methodologies.

To embark on this adventure, you’ll need to meet the following qualifications:

  • A bachelor’s or associate’s degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering from an accredited university or college
  • A minimum of 3 years’ experience in 3D modeling of aero-engines and gas turbine components, Siemens NX/Teamcenter environments preferred.
  • The ability to effortlessly decipher technical drawings with a deep understanding of ASME Y14.5 Geometric Dimensioning &Tolerancing.
  • Proven capacity to meet deadlines, thrive under time constraints, maintain composure, and adeptly juggle multiple tasks with outstanding communication skills, both written and oral, engaging with employees and managers at all levels.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and a passion for collaborative teamwork while thriving in a fast-paced, creative environment, enjoying the dynamic synergy of diverse teams.
  • US Citizen and an active Secret Clearance or a secret clearance that’s been active within the last 5 years or the ability to obtain one.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Check, engineer and analyze Product Definition per part family standards and design intent.
  • Collaborate with Mechanical Design Engineer(s) to develop jet engine parts like: turbine airfoils, exhaust, nozzles, combustors, diffusers and more.
  • Verify accuracy of 3D parametric Siemens NX models and their interrelationships through tolerance and geometric studies. This includes 2D associative drawing definition or Model Based Definition (MBD) as required.
  • Participate in reviews as the Product Definition delegate.
  • Prepare/Maintain various product related Teamcenter/NXManager data in support of Class I and II Engineering activities.
  • Act as mentor/coach and provide training to newer Product Definition practitioners.
